Second Transgender Sub Inspector of Police – Tamil Nadu
Prithika Yashini from Salem district became the first transgender sub-inspector of Tamil Nadu in 2017.
Following her, Sivanya, a transgender from Tiruvannamalai district, has now become the second transgender Sub Inspector of Police of the state.

The Assembly chambers at Fort St. George witnessed a historic event when President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the centenary celebrations of the State legislature.

16th Tamilnadu assembly election
Tamilnadu registered 72.78 percentage of polling in the recent 16th Assembly election.
Karur topped the districts with a high turnout of 83.92%.

Internal quota for Vanniyars
The Government of Tamil Nadu on February 26 passed a Bill temporarily providing an internal reservation of 10.5 per cent to the community under the category Most Backward Classes (V).
It has created two more groups — one covering 25 MBCs and 68 DNCs and another covering the remaining 22 MBCs.

Integrated and Inclusive Public Grievance CM Helpline
For effective and speedy disposal of public grievances, the state government issued a Government Order on setting up of Integrated and Inclusive Public Grievance CM Helpline Management System (IIPGCMS).
This system will help integrate the grievance redressal mechanisms and helplines of all departments and will bring them on a single platform.
A help desk, with helpline number ‘1100’ would be set up as part of the scheme.
