TAMIL NADU
Rs 50,000 ex-gratia for kin of Covid-19 victims
- The Tamil Nadu government announced ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 for the families of those who died of Covid-19.
- The compensations will be paid from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
- Those involved in relief and preparedness activities will also be covered in this.
- It is constituted under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
NATIONAL
CRPF women commandos
- In a first, a maiden contingent of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) women commandos who have been trained in VIP security will soon be deployed with ZPlus personalities.
- CRPF raised its first-ever contingent of 32 women commandos in its VIP Security wing.
- The women commandos will now be tasked to guard its protectees who are based in New Delhi and who receive the top Z+ Cover.
Vaccines and pill against Covid
- The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved Corbevax and Covovax Covid vaccines and anti-viral drug Molnupiravir for restricted use on adults in emergency situations.
- CORBEVAX vaccine is India’s 1st indigenously developed RBD protein subunit vaccine.
- It is made by Hyderabad-based firm Biological-E.
- The Nanoparticle Vaccine, COVOVAX, will be manufactured by Pune-based firm Serum Institute of India.
- Molnupiravir, an antiviral drug, will now be manufactured in the country by 13 companies for restricted use under emergency situation for adults.

- HDFC Bank has been named under ‘Most Innovative Best Practice’ at the coveted Confederation of Indian Industry Digital Transformation Award 2021 or CII DX Award 2021.
- It will be recognized for the HDFC’s efforts in world-class financial inclusion in Village Level Executive centres along with the Government of India’s Common Service Centres.
