Registered Unrecognized Political Parties

  • The number of registered unrecognised political parties has increased two-fold from 2010 to 2019.
  • It was established in 1999 and is situated at New Delhi.
  • There are 2,360 political parties registered with the Election Commission of India.
  • In that, 97.50% of them are unrecognised.
  • The following are considered as unrecognised parties: or Either newly registered parties or Those which have not secured enough percentage of votes in the assembly elections or General elections to become a state party or Those which have never contested elections since being registered

SAKSHAM portal

  • The Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) launched a job portal called SAKSHAM.
  • It will help in eliminating the middlemen and labour contractors.
  • The portal will also help in the development of skill cards for ‘shramiks’ (workers).

Seaweed Cultivation Mission

  • TIFAC (Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council) launched a Seaweed Cultivation Mission.
  • It aims to encourage the commercial farming of seaweeds and its processing.
  • The Seaweed Cultivation is also called as the kelp farming.


AMAN exercise

  • Pakistan Navy organised the Exercise Aman off the coast of Karachi.
  • A total of 46 countries including US, China, Russia, UK, Turkey, Iran, Indonesia is participating.


First Arab Mars Mission

  • UAE’s first mission to Mars has arrived at the red planet.
  • It is known as the Hope Probe.
  • This achievement makes the UAE only the fifth country in history to reach Mars.
  • Also, this is the Arab nation’s first interplanetary mission


Mandarin Duck

  • The Mandarin duck was spotted in Assam recently after 118 years.
  • It is a colorful duck and it is having habitat of eastern China and southern Japan.
  • The last Mandarin duck was spotted in Assam in the year 1902.


Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha’ Scheme

  • Under this scheme Rs 5,000 will be provided to 1,000 meritorious students of Class 9 in schools of Delhi as a science scholarship.
  • The scholarship will provide a boost to science education in secondary classes at the school level.

‘Jalabhishekam’ Water Conservation Campaign

  • Rajnath Singh, Indian Defence Minister inaugurated 57,000 water structures under the “Jalabhishekam Water Conservation Campaign”.
  • These water structures were constructed in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The conservation work will help to achieve the goal of water conservation and build a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.
